2023: Godswill Akpabio joins Presidential race Wednesday

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is to formally declare his interest to succeed President Muhamamdu Buhari in 2023.
Chief Press Secretary to Senator Akpabio, Mr Anietie Ekong, told our correspondent during a telephone conversation that Akpabio will join the presidential race on Wednesday, April 4, 2022, at Ikot Ekpene Town Station Stadium.
According to him, Akpabio will be contesting the 2023 presidency on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Others who have already declared for presidency under the platform of APC are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu; Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of State for Education, Chukuemeka Nwajiuba, to contest for the APC presidential ticket on May 30.
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, former Imo Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and former Senate President Ken Nnamani, have also shown interest to contest the APC presidential primaries.
