2023: Enoidem emerges PDP flagbearer for A’Ibom North-West Senatorial District with 329 votes

The immediate Past Peoples Democratic Party National Legal Adviser, NLA and National Chairman, Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, Hon Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, on Monday floored four other contestants to emerge the 2023 PDP candidate for Akwa Ibom North-West (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District.

Barr Enoidem pulled a total of 329 votes to emerge the winner. A total of 334 delegates were qualified to vote out of which 333 were accredited for the exercise that took place at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium.

A breakdown of delegates comprised of Ika LGA work 31 delegates, Ikot Ekpene 34, Abak 34, Ini 31, Essien Udim 34, Etim Ekpo 31, Oruk Anam 40, Obot Akara 31, Ukanafun 34 while Ikono LGA had a total of 34 delegates.

In his victory speech, Barr Enoidem said he was exceedingly happy to have the total votes of the electoral college.

“I’m going to treasure this for the rest of my life. I know I am going to the Senate because nobody who has ever gotten the PDP Senatorial ticket has ever lost and I am not going to break that protocol,” he assured.

He gave an olive branch to his fellow contestants, stating that the PDP is a large family that is big enough to accommodate all.

Other contestants for the Akwa Ibom North-West (Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District) primary included Dr Saviour Enyiekere, Hon Akan Eyo, Mr Odoro Edwin and Chief Inibehe Okori.

On hand to monitor the process was the State Deputy Governor, Pa Moses Ekpo, MFR, Senator Emmanuel IbokEssien, Senator Aloysius Etok, Rt Hon Udo Kerian Akpan, Hon Aniekan Umanah, Hon Uyime Idem, Dr Glory Edet, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, Essien Udim PDP House of Assembly candidate, Hon Barr Prince Akpabio, his Ikono counterpart, Hon Otoro Columber, the Akwa Ibom State PDP State Chairman, Rt Hon Elder Aniekan Akpan, the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom PDP Senatorial Primaries Committee, Barr Ayo, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr Borono Bassey, among others.
