Founder of the Omega Fire Ministries International Apostle Johnson Suleman on Monday said YouTuber Israel Balogun was not interrogated by the police for opposing the preacher’s ‘miracle money’, but for defamation.

Suleman stated this in a tweet affirming the words of his lawyer known on Twitter as Osa Director.

Balogun was released after several days in police detention last week over allegations of criminal defamation and cyber stalking.

The 38-year-old had posted a video to YouTube where he showed clips of Suleman declaring to his congregation that angels would deposit money into their bank accounts.

The clips were from the cleric’s ministrations in Atlanta, United States, and Auchi, Edo State, where worshippers showed their phones to testify to receiving credit alerts in their bank accounts.

Responding to allegations that the YouTuber was interrogated only for opposing the ‘miracle money’, Suleman retweeted a post by the lawyer.

“…Israel Balogun was not interrogated by the police over miracle money. He called Apostle a bandit, magician and criminal,” he wrote.

Speaking further, Suleman tweeted himself, “Nobody was invited by d police becos he spoke against miracle money.. he defamed.”

He also criticised Balogun’s lawyer Inibehe Effiong, saying, “Can sm1 refuse to appear in court when he has not been invited?

“A lawyer that replies an unverified write up from the street is that one a lawyer. He is just catching cruise. He is better ignored.”
