A 17-year-old boy, Goodness Oshodi, on Wednesday at Apamsede, a suburb of Lokoja, Kogi State, North Central Nigeria, allegedly buried his younger brother, Friday Oshodi alive, accusing him of stealing N1,000.
Sources at Apamsede told our correspondent that Friday is noted for stealing, adding that to check his criminal act, his mother asked Goodness to punish him.
They added that rather than giving Friday tolerable punishment, Goodness led him to nearby bush and buried him alive.
Our correspondent further gathered that luck, however, ran out of Goodness as he was caught in the heinous crime by some vigilant members of the public in the area who exhumed the body of Friday alive and reported the case to the police.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Kogi State Command, SP William Ovie Aya, in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Lokoja, confirmed the incident.
He added that police had arrested Goodness, adding that the command had commenced investigation into the case.
