Government of Akwa Ibom State is to open online portals for the recruitment of 1,000 teachers into the state secondary education board.
The chairman, Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board, Dr. Ekaette Ebong Okon announced this late Friday.
Okon, who spoke to newsmen shortly after her meeting with the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, said the online application process would be advertised on the Pioneer Newspaper.
The Pioneer, an official print medium of the Akwa Ibom State Government, publishes thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“Online applications processes for the employment of 1,000 teachers for secondary schools in Akwa Ibom is to be advertised in the Pioneer Newspaper next week”, she said.
CitizenDiary reported how potential job seekers were allegedly swindled of thousands of naira by government officials, who promised to include their names in the list of successful candidates.
It was gathered that government officials had already shared the slots among themselves.
But the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong had assured that the recruitment process would be transparently done online.
