The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested a robbery suspect identified as Biola Adebesin, who specialises in burgling places of worship in Baba Ode and Iju communities in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.
This is contained in a statement issued from the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, who narrated to newsmen that around 04:30hrs on 18 January 2024, the officers of the corps on routine patrol engaged in a face-to-face battle with the suspect carrying a heavy load on his head in Baba Ode community.
Ganzallo said while the officers of the corps accosted him for questioning, the suspect dropped the load and took to his heel.
The commander said the officers having taken notice of his natural identity, traced him to a hotel where he was rearrested at about 08:00hrs.
“The load the suspect dropped was discovered to be an exhibit which contained two Yamaha keyboards, one mixer engine, decoder, accessories, one Tecno Android and small Bontel phones while the suspect made a confessional statement that the exhibit was stolen from one Redeemed Christian Church of God, Onibuku, Cherubim and Seraphim, Baba Ode and Stronghold Ministry,” Ganzallo.
According to him, the suspect Biola Adebesin has been transferred to Onipaanu Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
