The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, on Friday, May 21, 2021, played host to the Presidential Visitation Panel to the Federal College of Education (Technical) Yaba, Lagos State, at the conference room, State Headquarters, Ikeja.
The panel chairman, which was led by Chief Mrs Olufunke Agagu, considered it necessary to pay such a visit to the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, as part of its statutory assignments on the general assessment and safety of the college and the students.
The leader of the delegate applauded the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, for his efforts towards having effective policing of Lagos State.
This was contained in a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
She, however, admonished the Commissioner of Police to continually deploy the command’s resources, both human and material, to provide adequate security for the entire Federal College’s Community in Yaba-Lagos.
Similarly, the Provost of the College, Dr Wahab Azeez, applauded the Commissioner of Police and the entire workforce of the command for their dogged fights against crimes and criminality in the state.
He also appealed to the command to assist in deploying additional policemen to the college and keep the hoodlums and “bad boys” at bay especially whenever the college is on break.
Odumosu, in his speech, reassured the panel of the command’s commitment to sustain its strategies to police the entire Lagos State, including the college community.
He further directed the Divisional Police Officers around the institution in Yaba and tactical commanders in the command to beam their search light on the institution to adequately fortify the security of the college and its students.
Being a proactive crime fighter, the police boss ordered the instant deployment of a team of policemen, with a patrol vehicle, to the institution to beef up its security.
Other members of the Presidential Visitation Panel include Pastor Ituah Ighadolo, Mrs Any Olajubu, Secretary to the panel, Chief Chinedum Adinelu, Prof.Boniface O. Oloche and Dr.Jamila Abdullahi Aminu.
