On Tuesday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State ordered the arrest of a soldier and Okada (tricycle) rider for driving against traffic (one-way driving).
According to a trending video, Sanwo-Olu ordered the arrest of a ‘soldier’ for a one-way driving violation.
The governor in a video that has gone viral, said: “Arrest and put him there when your father come and let him come and rescue you.”
One of the young men said, Oga, “I’m a soldier.”
The governor replied, “That is the more reason I’m going to lock you up. Get him down there.”
The young man, who is a soldier started begging the governor, saying, “I am sorry, sir.”
But the governor continued, “Take him down there. You are telling me you are a soldier, take four of them. Go and lock them up! You are telling me you are a soldier.”
However, the governor standing on the same spot, another motorbike with passengers, attempted to ride past the governor’s convoy but was seized.
Sanwo-Olu said, “You people are the ones causing it, arrest two of them and put them in guard room, “Madam you are also one of them. You are a graduate and entering Okada and they take you on one way, and you put it on Facebook on a road that I’ve done. Is it good and they will hit you and fall and die, and they say the government kills you? What a shame and we’re all looking for a better country.
