PDP refutes Emmanuel’s resignation from party’s PCC

Ini Billie, Uyo
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has denied the resignation of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel as the Chairman of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
According to the party, the rumoured resignation was a product of speculation by people averse to the idea and prospects of what the nation would enjoy under the Presidency of Atiku and Okowa in 2023.
A statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Borono Bassey in Uyo, Emmanuel noted that he never contemplated resigning his position as Chairman of the Presidential Council, noting that he believes in the ability of Atiku Abubakar to address the many challenges facing the country.
“Governor Udom Emmanuel has said that at no time has he ever contemplated resigning his position as Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, stressing that this is a Patriotic duty, he owes to Nigerians who are anxiously waiting for the incoming PDP administration to repair the all-round ruins left by the current administration.
“As a firm believer in the capacity and aptitude of Atiku Abubakar to tackle and address the myriads of challenges bedeviling our nation at this time, Governor Udom Emmanuel says he remains a frontline dogged, undeterred, focused and optimistic Compatriot in the collective match by Nigerians to rescue Nigeria and redirect her on a path of accelerated and collective progress and development,” the release stated.
