Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is set to increase the number of wives in the palace by adding two more.
Already, the king has welcomed two queens into the palace since his separation from Queen Silekunola. He married an oil and gas executive Mariam nee Anako, and then came Elizabeth Akinmuda.
The Ooni, who will turn 48 this month, is now set to welcome two more wives to the palace — Tobi Phillips and Princess Ashley Adegoke.
His wedding to Phillips will take place on October 9, 2022.
A former beauty queen, Phillips has reportedly been dating the Ooni for six years. The graduate of Marine Science from the University of Lagos was reportedly tipped to be queen after Olori Zainab Wuraola left but Silekunola came into the picture.
Adegoke, on her part, has a 10-year-old daughter from her relationship with another man.
She is a chartered accountant and also runs a non-governmental organisation known as the Ashley Adegoke Foundation.
Armed with a bachelor’s degree in accounting coupled with a master’s in accounting and finance from the University of Greenwich, she is said to run her businesses in the United Kingdom, where she is the head at RisenCrown Ltd.
Her wedding to the Ooni holds on Friday, October 14, 2022. Adegoke is from the Lafogido royal house. Her father is the late Prince Jacob Adegoke.
The wedding invite which has gone viral reads, “The Royal Family of Late Prince Adebiyi Adegoke of the Adagba compound in Lafogido Ruling House cordially invites you to the traditional wedding of their daughter Her Royal Highness Omo Oba Afolasade Ashley Adegoke and His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II on Friday, the 14th of October 2022.”
The invite added that after meeting with the groom at the palace marriage rites will follow immediately at the residence of the late Prince Adebiyi Adegoke in Ile Ife, Osun State.
