A 32-year-old man, Ibrahim Olalekan, died around Monday midnight when a Toyota Corolla car with number plate LND 939 FZ, crashed into a culvert at Obanikoro area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the motorist was trying to avoid a collision with an unidentified truck when he suddenly hit the culvert. The impact was so great that he was said to have died on the spot.
Head, Public Affairs, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, who confirmed the incident, stated that the midnight operation, LASEMA Response Team recovered the body of the adult male motorist.
He said, “Investigations revealed that a 32-year-old driver of Toyota Corolla car with number plate LND 939 FZ, Mr Ibrahim Olalekan, lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid collision with an unidentified truck.
“The incident was attended by the agency ‘s Responders under 10 minutes, with support by responders from LASTMA, LASAMBUS and Rapid Response Squad of the Nigerian Police Force.”
According to Okunbor, the remains of the sole fatality have been bagged and handed over to Police officers from Pedro Police Station, while the accident car was recovered with the aid of the agency’s light tow truck and moved to a layby thereby to restore normalcy on the road.
