Fadeyi said that personnel would be deployed to strategic locations across the state to protect lives and critical government infrastructure.
“To ensure a hitch-free salah celebration, the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has deployed 1200 personnel of the corps to strategic locations across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state.
“Plain clothes personnel will be deployed alongside uniform and armed personnel to gather intelligence.
“The deployment is necessary to ensure that the 2021 Eid el fitri celebration is peaceful and devoid of hostilities.
“As such, major highways as well as all entry and exit points to Akwa Ibom State will be fully patrolled,” Fadeyi said.
He added that strategic locations like the Tropicana complex, playgrounds, recreational centres, Ibom plaza, Mosques and praying ground would be fully secured.
The commandant enjoined all Akwa Ibom residents to remain vigilant during the celebration and report any form of infraction and breach of peace to the nearest security agency for prompt action.
Fadeyi urged Nigerians to be peaceful, tolerate one another and be their brother’s keeper.
