Tony Nyong, Uyo
Notable Nigerians and Akwa Ibom State indigenes have positively borne their minds over the successful inauguration of the State Trust Fund Board and the appointment of Engr Fasal Harb, Managing Director of Bulletin Company to the board.
The people have also urged those appointed to the board to use their wealth of experience to successfully drive the board to enviable heights to justify the confidence the Akwa Ibom State government has shown in them.
Speaking shortly after the board inauguration, a royal monarch and Paramount Ruler of Uyo, Edidem Sylvanus Okon praised Umo Bassey Eno’s administration for his people-centric style of government and the calibre of people selected to constitute the State Trust Fund Board.
His Royal Majesty, Edidem Sylvanus Okon, who spoke glowingly on the appointment of Harb to the board described the helmsman of the construction firm as a man of sterling qualities whose integrity and capacity to deliver on any responsibility was not in doubt.
He harped on Harb’s pragmatic approach to concerns of Corporate Social Responsibilities and sincere efforts in helping the governor succeed by passionately prosecuting the Akwa Ibom State Arise Park project considered to be so dear to the heart of Gov. Umo Eno.
Also speaking, the Secretary of Enniong Village Council and foremost Community leader Sir Emmanuel Archibong, noted that the Managing Director of the construction firm deserves the appointment having enjoyed the acceptance of the people of Uyo following his prompt and quality delivery of road projects and his decision to build his head office in the state, which according to him, will balloon the youth employment and empowerment strides of the government.
The secretary in his words said, “Uyo people are happy with Eno, we are happy for him to appoint the son of Uyo to serve for the first time as Secretary to the State Government and we are happy for the appointment of Mr Fasal Harb, Managing Director of Bulletin as a member of the State Trust Fund Board.
He appealed to the state chief executive to construct more roads in Uyo, especially the Ewet Housing Extension Estate to bring development closer to Uyo people and in honour of the Uyo Royal Monarch who has been very supportive of government programmes.
He emphasized that by now Uyo being the state capital should have all the roads (including inner roads) asphalted since it plays host to both the national and international communities. He, however, expressed confidence that Bulletin Construction Company Ltd can handle such projects.
