Late Osinachi’s husband breaks silence on allegations of domestic violence

Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late gospel singer, Osinachi, has denied the domestic violence allegations levelled against him.

Recall that the popular singer died on Friday after allegedly being in a coma for five days following assaults she received from her husband.

Colleagues and children of Osinachi, who was a lead singer at the Dunamis International Headquarters, Abuja, confirmed the allegations, accusing Peter Nwachukwu of domestic violence and maltreatment.

Peter Nwachukwu was immediately arrested by the police after the younger brother of the singer reported the matter, leading to an investigation ongoing at the force.

Speaking from police custody, Peter Nwachukwu said his late wife had been battling an illness since November last year.

He added that he first took her to Federal Medical Center (FMC), later to Gwagwalada General hospital, and then to National Hospital, where she finally died.

He, however, failed to disclose the nature of her illness.

Following his confession, Nwachukwu was led in handcuffs and taken to the house to provide evidence of the hospitals he claimed to have taken his deceased wife to for treatment.

An autopsy had been carried out on the late singer’s corpse to ascertain the real cause of her death.

The autopsy became necessary after the late singer’s husband denied being responsible for her death, or any wrongdoing.

While the police await the autopsy test results, Kemi Filani reports Mr. Nwachukwu had been transferred to the force headquarters in Abuja for further interrogations.
