LASEMA in recovery operation of overturned truck at Oshodi BRT terminal

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA in an ongoing operation is in the process of recovering an overturned articulated truck which fell into the Oshodi BRT terminal.

LASEMA has activated the emergency response plan in the recovery of an overturned, empty trailer that plunged into the BRT terminal from Oshodi Oke axis of the state.

Reports have it that an overturned Trailer with registration no. KTU 437 XU had plunged into the BRT Terminal in Oshodi due to mechanical failure was causing obstruction along the axis.

In a statement released by the DG/CEO LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, he said that “A distress call was received from the Director of Operations (LASTMA) about an empty trailer that plunged into the above location.

“The Agency team at the main base immediately activated the LASEMA response plan and moved to the incident scene.

“On arrival at the scene of incident the LRT discovered a trailer with reg no. KTU 437 XU overturned due to mechanical fault (brake failure) while descending the bridge and fell into the BRT terminal thereby causing obstruction along the axis.

“No casualties was recorded. “The Agency team and LASTMA are join responders making efforts to evacuate the impediment off the road.”

LASEMA Response Teams recovered the overturned trailer to a layby with the agency’s heavy duty equipment around 5.29 pm on Sunday, June 20, 2021
