Lagos West 2023: Group threatens to work against APC if it adopts Adebule

Badagry Division Alliance for Ideal Democracy (BDAID) has threatened to work against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos West Senatorial District if it goes ahead with the alleged backdoor entry of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule into the senatorial race after the conclusion of the process for expression of interest.

A statement by the group signed by Ademola Akerele-Raji and Adeola Shukuraunday, President and Secretary respectively, described the purported action of the party leaders as a slap on democracy.

“We have been inundated with news and stories of the entry of Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule into the senatorial race. If it is true, then APC should prepare to lose the largest Senatorial District in the next election.

“These people think Nigerians are fools. How can Adebule who never collected the nomination and expression of interest forms, and never attended the screening of the party Aspirants be now running for a Senatorial seat?

“It’s a shame that these people think they can manipulate us. I bet that the ‘O to ge’ syndrome will be resurrected in Lagos West in 2023 if this is allowed to go through,” the group said.

According to the statement, BDAID explained that it has already briefed its legal team to sue APC and all those involve in the shenanigans if the party goes ahead with the illegal process.

“We will go to court and our legal team is ready. The court will explain if a team can score a goal after the referee has blown the final whistle in a football match.

“Apart from this, we are going to mobilise against the APC in the senatorial district. Enough of this Illegal Impunity on our collective populace,” the group concluded.
