Lagos LGA holds budget retreat, promises to deliver more democratic dividends

Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr Wasiu Adesina, on Friday said his administration would not stop in delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
Adesina said this at the 2022 budget retreat with the theme: “Budget of new beginning” at Admos Hotel in Imota, Lagos State.
The chairman led the legislative arm, management and heads of units for the year 2022 budget retreat exercise where stakeholders were allowed for extensive deliberations and considerations.
“In 2022, Ikorodu LG is set to take ownership of the Ita-Elewa open space, reconstruction of Salvation Army, Solomade Street, Arowolo Street in Itupate,
“Agura-Gberigbe road, despite being a state road, palliative measures would be completed therein, Mowonla road, Dada street and Itun- Domiganran road.
“Three boreholes will be constructed in Ward A2, asphalt/ resurfacing in Pashoku, Ita-Elewa, Itumoja, Kokoro Abu will also be attended to.
“Improving the standard of Agura PHC, Landscaping of the Local Government secretariat, official vehicles for the chieftains amongst other lined up projects for the year,” Adesina said.
The council boss commended residents of Ikorodu and appreciated everyone present for their unwavering love, support since the inception of his administration.
He reassured that this administration is determined to continue to deliver more dividend of democracy to the people.
Adesina commended the efforts of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu in the areas of infrastructural development and the welfare of citizenry.
The chairman also commended the management of Ikorodu LG in their various capacities and the Legislative Arm for their unflinching support.
The council boss however, appealed to the residents that their efforts should not be reverted rather it should be intensified to attain more success in unity for Ikorodu LG.
Also speaking at the event, Dr Olushoga Badejo, a consultant, who was the guest lecturer, emphasise on all that makes up a budget, the process, evaluation methods and ways to improve revenue.
Badejo, commended the chairman on his efforts in harmonising and the collaboration of offices, management and members present effectively amidst his several remarkable achievements since the assumption of office.
“The chairman have significantly done a lot since his assumption of duty, but with more collaboration, the council will achieve more,” he said.
