The Company Secretary and Legal Adviser of Ibom Power Company Limited, Mr Ime Asibong has emerged the chairman of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter.
Asibong, a Fellow of ICSAN, was elected by qualified members of ICSAN at the 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the institute at ICSAN’s corporate office in Uyo. The election was monitored online by a representative of the National body of ICSAN, Mr Yinka Oguntoyinbo.
After collation and vote counting, the chairman of the electoral committee, Her Worship, Theresa Ntong declared Asibong as the newly elected chairman of ICSAN Akwa Ibom State chapter.
The newly elected chairman will steer the affairs of ICSAN, Akwa Ibom State chapter for the next two years with other elected executives, which consist of the vice chairman, Mrs Chinonyerem Ini Ememobong, General Secretary, Mr Abasiama Idiong, Assistant Secretary, Mrs Osinachi Esther Udo, and the Financial Secretary, Mrs Christiana Okon.
Other elected ICSAN executives are the Honorary Treasurer, Mrs Emem-Abasi Inyang, Publicity Secretary, Mr Victor Emmanuel Idem, Mobilization Secretary, Miss Eirene Idung and the Social Secretary, Miss Imo UbongAbasi Ukana.
The pioneer chairman of ICSAN in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Aniedi Amos in his address appreciated members of the institute for the opportunity to lead in the capacity as Chairman.
He said he campaigned for ICSAN Akwa Ibom State Chapter leadership on the promise of growth, awareness, integration, relevance, advocacy, funding and renting of a befitting office accommodation.
The outgoing Chairman said, “ICSAN Akwa Ibom chapter has grown from only three qualified members to 38 qualified members. We have maintained a cordial relationship with relevant media organizations to create awareness about the activities of ICSAN and the chapter has secured a befitting office accommodation for ICSAN amongst other accomplishments.”
Amos, who is also a Fellow of ICSAN congratulated the newly elected chairman and his team urging them to surpass the accomplishments of the previous exco.
Meanwhile, the newly elected chairman of ICSAN Akwa Ibom chapter, Asibong has appreciated members of ICSAN Akwa Ibom Chapter for entrusting him with the leadership of the fastest growing ICSAN chapter in Nigeria.
He lauded the previous executive for laying a solid foundation and promised that his leadership will build on their success.
Asibong joined Ibom Power Company Limited as the Company Secretary in 2003 after 14 years of private practice as a Barrister & Solicitor, where he gained corporate management and leadership skills.
He recently completed the Global Executive Leadership Program at Howard University School of Business, Washington DC, United Sates of America. He is married with lovely kids.
