Gunmen, on Monday morning, launched a surprise attack on the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Owerri.
A section of the building was damaged after it was torched by a firebomb.
The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abbatam, who confirmed the attack, said police, who arrived at the scene killed three of the gunmen and recovered two firebombs were recovered.
INEC office in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State was attacked eight days ago before the Monday morning attack.
