Unknown gunmen on Saturday evening abducted the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa on Oza Road, in Orhiomwon Local Government Area.
The driver was reportedly killed while his boss was being kidnapped.
Okungbowa was said to be coming from an event organised by a politician in Orhionmwon LGA of the state.
An employee in Government House, who did not want his name in print, said: “He was kidnapped on his way back to Benin City after attending a local event in Oza. His driver was killed.”
Effort to confirm the incident from the state Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, on Sunday, was unsuccessful as he did not answer calls made into his telephone nor responded to text message that was sent into his phone.
