Another set of gunmen, on Monday, attacked Awada Police Station in Onitsha, the commercial town of Anambra State, and killed two police officers.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the station, an inspector, and a newly recruited police constable was said to have been killed in the early morning attack.
Also, three of the hoodlums were gunned down in an exchange for fire with policemen.
It was learned that the gunmen also carted away guns and ammunition as well as set the station ablaze.
The latest development came less than 24 hours after six persons were killed during an attack by gunmen on 3-3 Police Divisional Headquarters, Nkwelle-Ezunaka in the Oyi Local Government Area of the state.
On Friday, three police officers were killed in an attack on a police station in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra.
On December 28, 2022, gunmen attacked the police divisional headquarters in the Ihiala area of the state with explosives.

The activities of the bloodthirsty hoodlums are believed to have overstretched the personnel of the state police command.
