The Frontiers for Peace and Unity (FPU), a pressure group, has called for the political participation of all adult citizens in the country to ensure good governance, peace, and justice.
The National Coordinator of FPU, Mrs Owas Ikalama, stated this in her address at the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom Chapter executive of the group in Uyo on Sunday.
Ikalama said the frontiers for peace and unity was born out of the urge to create a peaceful political atmosphere in the country.
She said that the group would work hard to ensure the actualisation of Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation as President come 2023.
She called on the Akwa Ibom chapter executive of FPU to ensure immediate inauguration of Local Government Areas and wards executive to enthrone the necessary political impact of achieving the goal of the organisation.
“Our organisation believes that the political participation of every adult citizen of this country is crucial, so we need to introduce dynamic ways of politicking as well as inject innovation into the political scene.
“As a country, Nigeria requires to always elect accountable leadership, promote youth empowerment and women participation in political leadership and decision making.
“Also, crucial to us is to identify leaders who possess the capacity to deliver political dividends to the people.
“After due consultation and profiling of visible political leaders in the South-South region, FPU has concluded that our father and leader of APC in the South-South, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation parades the best credentials and character to mount the saddle as Nigeria’s President come 2023,” Ikalama said.
The national coordinator said the group would continue to work with All Progressive Congress in achieving her political aims and objectives and contribute positively towards the enthronement of a better Nigeria.
She commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to the development of infrastructure in the country.
Also speaking, an elder of the group in the state, Mr Effiong Eyo, called on Akwa Ibom people to support the group vision to enthrone APC in the state come 2023.
In his acceptance speech, the Akwa Ibom Coordinator of FPU, Mr Brave Nsunwara, promised to pilot the affairs of the group to ensure victory for APC come 2023.
He said FPU came to make positive change and ensure good governance and provide dividends of democracy to the people.
He called on all APC supporters in the state to get involved in the vision of the frontiers for peace and unity for positive change.
Our correspondent reports that the high point of the event was the inauguration of the state executive members led by Mr Brave Nsunwara as the state Coordinator, Mr Jackson Peters as the state Secretary and Mr Victor Mkpofor as Organising Secretary.
