FRSC, NA collaborate to ensure safety on Nigerian roads

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigerian Army (NA) are to ensure safety on Nigerian roads with a view to reducing road crashes.

This was made known during a Study Tour Visit of the Junior Course 1 Students of FRSC Command and Staff College, Udi, Enugu State to the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army Headquarters in Uyo on Thursday.

The Commandant, FRSC, Command and Staff College, Assistant Corps Marshall, Chidibere Nkwonta, stated this during the visit and commended the 2 Brigade for welcoming the students to their headquarters.

Our correspondent reports that the theme for the tour is; “Cascading National Road Safty to Sub-national Levels.”

Nkwota lauded the army for maintaining a healthy partnership with FRSC over the years, stressing that there must be continuous collaboration to make the state and the country safe for the citizens.

“We are very grateful for this grand reception and I am confident that I can always trust the Nigerian Army because anytime they are called upon, they are there for us,” Nkwota said.

In his remarks, the Commander 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, thanked FRSC for their efforts to ensure crash-free roads in the country.

Wase said that the Nigerian Army has continued to demonstrate a good partnership with the sister agencies across the country, and FRSC is one of them.

The commander assured all sister security agencies that the Nigerian Army will always respond when the need arises.

He charged the students to be focused and serious in their studies, as he expects an excellent performance at the end of their studies.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Mr Christopher Eya, thanked the 2 Brigade for the grand reception accorded the students during the visit.

Eya said that the gesture explains the continuous and strong partnership existing among sister security agencies across the country.
