Four rescued in a collapsed building in A'Ibom

Four persons have been rescued from the debris of storey building that collapsed at Iman Street by Nse Ntip, off Aka Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

It was learnt that the building which was still under construction collapsed at the fourth floor on Saturday evening.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Ini Ememobong, said the four persons have been taken to the hospital while rescue operations is still ongoing.

“All critical rescue and security agencies (Police, DSS, and Fire Service) are  on ground with technical support from some construction companies like JuliusBerger and Amitek.

“Secretary to State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey Okon and other government officials are at the scene.

“Four persons rescued and taken to the Hospital. Rescue operations still ongoing to rescue more,” he said.
