Four Akwa Ibom graduates die in auto crash

Four graduates of Akwa Ibom State indigenes, who were going to Katsina State for their National Youth Service programme have in an auto crash which happened on Wednesday morning, July 28, 2021.

The 18-seater bus conveying the victims was said to have run into a waiting trailer in the thick of the night parked along the road, resulting in the ghastly accident.

Seven of the survivors in worsening condition were said to have been taken to nearby hospital.

A viral video shows mangled bodies of the victims. Some had fractured skulls and dismembered limbs.

The wails of ‘’Jesus! Jesus! Eh, God!’’ by one of the surviving victims with decapitated limbs reverberated on the background.

Though the scene of the accident is not known, one of the eyewitnesses said the survivors had been taken to hospital.

The universities or polytechnics the deceased and victims graduated from are still unknown.

In his Twitter, one Dr. Perking wrote, “A bus conveying corps members from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to Katsina for their camping activities has been involved in an accident.

“They were all rushed to the hospital, 4 were confirmed dead on arrival while 7 sustained various degrees of injuries.’’
