The Federal Government has inaugurated the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, which had been without a board for almost four years.
The Senate on December 20, 2022, confirmed the nominations of the Chairman and Board Members of the Commission after President Muhammadu Buhari sent their names in line with the provisions of the NDDC (Establishment) Act, 2008.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustahpha, during the inauguration of the board, on Wednesday, asked the board members to be honest.
He, however, urged them to work towards policies that would contribute to the coordinated development of the Niger Delta region.
Also, the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Niger-Delta Affairs, Mrs Sharon Ikeazu, urged the board to work to give the people of the region hope.
