Tunde Olufemi, Ibadan
Thousands of youths on Tuesday morning thronged out in some areas in Ibadan and blocked the Ojoo end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to continue with the #EndSARS protests.
It was learnt that the expressway was barricaded and those travelling to Oyo town and the northern part of the country were not able to link the Ibadan-Ilorin Road.
Our correspondent, who was at the scene of the incident, said as early as 8am, protesters were out barricading roads at various junctions.
According to him, the barricade forced some vehicles to turn back and find alternative routes, adding that it was not long when the protesters blocked all the exit routes to and from Ibadan.
This caused gridlock and some motorists had to abandon their vehicles by the roadside out of frustration.
The #EndSARS protesters also mounted roadblock in front of the police station in Ojoo, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The police had to lock their gate and their patrol vehicles which used to be parked by the roadside were all removed and parked on the premises.
It was gathered that some armed policemen, who were inside the station were aware of the blockage, noting that there was no sour relationship between them and the protesters as at the time of filing this report.
Also, various junctions were blocked by the protesters on the Ojoo-UI road as the youth continued to chant, ‘EndSARS! No SWAT!’
