Hoodlums taking cover under the #EndSARS protests on Monday attacked the officers and men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Nigerian Police Force at Yaba, Lagos State.
According to eyewitnesses, some hoodlums under #ENDSARS protest attacked the RRS officer at Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba.
The attack at the RRS office at Herbert Macaulay, was said to have happened around 10am.
According to a video streaming online, the hoodlums were seen advancing to attack RRS vans, which was going to carry some officers, who were on night shift.
They hauled stones at the trucks, as the policemen escaped for their lives. But one of the hoodlums was apprehended and beaten thoroughly.
It was gathered that some policemen were injured and have been taken to hospital for treatment.
In another video, protesters were seen chasing an RRS pick-up van around Lagos-Ibadan expressway, at Secretariat end. The RRS truck met a brick wall and had to reverse for some minutes to escape the onslaught.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has yet to brief newsmen on what transpired between the hoodlums and the RRS.
