The leadership and members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter welcome the newly posted Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, to the state.

Chairman, CRAN in Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Raymond Ekpe, said in a statement in Uyo on Friday that the association was pleased to have CP Durosinmi as the one at the helm of affairs of the Police Force in the state.

He said: “This is in view of his impeccable character as the finest officer who has merited the Hall of Fame in the Nigeria Police Force through hard work and dedication.

“The association, which comprises journalists covering the crime beat in an effort to promote a crime-free society, also notes with satisfaction, the towering profile and track records of the CP in the previous police formations that he has served distinctively, with a lot of imprints worth noting.

“In view of this, CRAN is optimistic that the new CP will not only sustain this very excellent character in policing that he has made his trademark over the years but will also fashion out new paradigms for more effective policing in line with the present realities in Akwa Ibom State.”

He added that CRAN as a disciplined body wishes to express its readiness and determination to collaborate with the new CP in all ways possible to secure the state from criminal elements.

Ekpe noted that the association will continue to work with the police within the ambit of its professional ethics and code of conduct.
