The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has recovered two male commodities under the rubble and bagged.

Head, Public Affairs, LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, said search and rescue on the scene of the collapsed building is ongoing.

He added that more of the agency’s heavy-duty equipment (Crane and Hiab) are being deployed at the incident scene.

It will be recalled that early Sunday six persons were trapped in the rubbles but two had been recovered and bagged.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said on Sunday morning that upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted seven storey-building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed.

He stated that emergency responders had been deployed to commence rescue operations at the scene of the incident.

He said: “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted 7 storey building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed.”

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, no injury has been sustained, though six people are reported to be trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed structure.

He added that the agency’s heavy duty equipment excavator would be required for the rescue of the trapped victims, noting, “We have activated Lagos State Response plan.”

The LASEMA boss assured that operation is still ongoing and more updates to follow.
