… Pays n100 million for nomination form
The Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, has finally declared for president after many months of speculations and denial.
Emefiele picked up his presidential express of interest and nomination forms at the All Progressives Congress, APC, Secretariat, after the payment of the mandatory N100 million.
The Finance Department of the ruling party said it has received the CBN chief payment of N100 million for the nomination and expression of interest forms and has released his forms.
For months, Emefiele expressly denied any involvement in the 2023 presidential race and allegedly warned the campaigners against dragging him into the race.
Emefiele stated that the attempt to drag him into the presidential race was a distraction, noting that he was rather focused on fixing Nigeria’s monetary policies and aligning them with Federal Government’s fiscal policies.
However, there were reports of branded campaign vehicles purchased on behalf of the CBN Governor’s campaign which his group vehemently denied any link to him.
