That Nigerian super stars, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, simply known as Burna Boy and Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, alias Wizkid, have won their first Grammy Awards.
The award which held on Sunday night, March 14th, 2021 at Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles saw Burna Boy win the award for the Best Global Music Album, with ‘Twice as Tall’ while Wizkid’s song with Beyoncé – ‘Brown Skin Girl’ won the best music video.
Burna Boy was also among the musicians that performed at the event. Others include Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
Meanwhile, American singer, Beyoncé lead the pack with nine nominations. She broke the record for the most Grammy wins ever by a female artist and most Grammy wins ever by a singer.
