A five-storey building under construction located at 45, Ladipo Oluwole, GRA Apapa, Lagos State, collapsed on Sunday.
It was learnt that the officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency have sealed the building.
The latest building collapse in Lagos comes barely 72 hours after a seven-storey building collapsed in the Bananna Island area of Lagos State.
The officials added that the collapse of the building in Apapa was due to a thunder strike orchestrated by heavy rains early Sunday, 23 April 2023.
A volunteer with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ajeromi Ifelodun LCDA, Asimiyu Tiamiyu, who was among the early callers at the scene, assured Nigerians that no casualty was recorded at the incident site.
He added that all the workers at the site of the collapsed building had gone for a Sallah break, hence there was no fatality.
He stated that the state government must beam a searchlight on the recurring incident of collapsing building which had claimed many lives and property worth billions of Naira destroyed.
