A’Ibom North-West Senatorial District PDP to support Emmanuel’s succession plan

The stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District have resolved to support the completion agenda and the succession plan of Gov. Udom Emmanuel ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

This was contained in a communique issued by the stakeholders drawn from Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Essien Udim, Obot Akara, Ikono, Ini, Etim Ekpo, Ukanafun,  Ika and Oruk Anam Local Government Areas, at the end of their meeting in Uyo on Tuesday.

The communique, which was signed by Mr Moses Ekpo, Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor, Sen. Ibok Essien, Sen. Alloysius Etuk and 22 others.

According to the communique, the group resolved to zone the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial seat to Abak/ Etim Ekpo/ Ika Federal Constituency in 2023 because the area has never produced a senator.

The group commended Gov Udom Emmanuel development strides, particularly in the areas of industrialisation, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and agriculture.

The communique lauded the sustainable peace and harmonious co-existence experienced in the state in the last six years.

The group urged all parts of the state to join hands in ensuring that the prevailing climate of peace was sustained.

The group passed a vote of confidence on the governor for his pragmatic disposition and development-driven leadership that has exposed Akwa Ibom to the outside world to attract investors within the period.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the deputy governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, used to inform the group that Gov. Emmanuel holds the senatorial district in high esteem.

Ekpo said that the selection for those to attend the meeting was done  by stakeholders from the 10 LGAs assured that he would continue to give them effective representation
