Supporters of former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, on Saturday shut down Enugu in a march tagged, “Charity begins at home.”
Thousands of supporters took over major streets of Enugu in Labour Party colours singing solidarity songs in support of Peter Obi.
The mammoth crowd which converged at the Okpara Square take-off point marched through the major roads of the Enugu Coal City.
Saturday’s conference which was later held at the Shoprite Event Centre is the first major show of support by the Obident group in the headquarters of the South East.
Findings by our Correspondent reveal that the conference was put together by Capt. Everest Nnaji-led Peter Obi Support Group to join other parts of Nigeria where youths have spoken with one voice for a change in the administration of the country.
Members of the two major political parties, the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party have earlier said that supporters of Peter Obi exist only on social media.
The multiple matches may have been organized to prove a point that the Nigerians supporting the ambition of Peter Obi does not only command a presence on social media but are real.
